WANTED: XM Outter Cills

Hey guys,

Looking for both outer cills for a Series 1 XM.

Citroen have them but want £170 each.

Apparently a pattern part usually costs around £15 but nobody seems to have them for the XM.

Does anyone know if Series 2 cills fit?

Hi David

Perhaps Citroenxm can confirm and talk about repair methods.
I supplied him with a set of recovered Mk2 ones a couple of years ago.
I cannot imagine that he was saving a Mk2 and he said they were used successfully.
Good condition recovered might well be the easiest option anyway as the rust also usually attacks the bottom half of the inner sections.
That makes for a lot of patching before a new outer cill can be fitted.

Thanks for the reply.

My inner cill is rock solid, there's no rot on there at all. It's just that my outer cill has corroded into holes in all 4 corners.

Not sure about Mk1's but Mk2's have centre shaped plates as well as inner and outer ones.
It is the bottom edge of these centre ones that get hit by corrossion.

Cill shape and construction NEVER changed between S1 and S2.. it was nose and interior changes, and better sound proofing....

The S2 cills were a PERFECT fit onto the S1 1991 car they went on!!

You just would NOT tel they had been fitted 17 years later in the cars life!!

Credit to the fabricator! (It was not me I tell you that)
