WANTED: Wiring LOOM engine bay. AUTO model 89 to 93 only

Well the turth emerges... well, more the logic of XM Harness's..

I gave up dooing pin to pin checks when I could NOT get the STOP lights or engine oil pressure light to work CORRECTLY!

I got the rev counter, glow plugs, altinator charge lights all to work.. but that was it. Still had to get the Headlights connected to the colum switch's... so I decided enough.

However, in the mean time I had trashed the Base Original Dash harness so couldn;t put that back. OK I had another Base D dash harness from the J reg S1 car... BUT... and this IS where it all works!

The harness's ARE plug to plug like model to model BUT only year to year!!!

In other words. The SED 2.1 H reg harness would fit into the J reg S1 Base D model and upgrade it no problem.. BUT, what had happend by 1994 L reg S1.5 is they changed the harness layout and changed some connecting plugs! The other connecting plug to change is the one under the LHM tank. It went from a oblong type plug to a Circular one simmilar to the Door ones. This is where the incompatability occurs! The harness is the same into S2 models!

So, my way out of this?? Yes there is, swap the front passenger harness AND engine harness for an earlyer one .. OK.. but, the small issue I have is the ones I have are from a manual car! Arrrgghhh still cant go forward. Why? because the autobox selector inhibitor switch and Gear selected display is also built into the "Front" harness on the passenger chassis...

SO.. car still stripped out for a week now, I am NOW needing an "Auto Front Harness" from off the passenger chassis side under the LHM tank from a H J or K reg car, from the plugs just inside the car to the front of the battery box.... This will sort me out...

Paul - below is a photo of the loom I took out of the J reg 2.1td auto that I broke. Does that look suitable? Steve
