Wanted: hydraulic pipes

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi there – I'm in Powys, mid-Wales. Nearest town of any size is Llandrindod Wells. Nearest Citroen specialist is in Hereford, but after messing up my last service, I don't trust them.

Aha-ha – small world isn't it? :) useful to know about the plumbing, but how d'you feel about 'unbending' and possibly welding sills? :(

Hi again,

What's your postcode and d'you think the welding/bending could be done in a day, or would I need to leave the car with you?

Does this cupronickel gizmo apply to the pipes I'm looking for as well? Could they be replaced with those? If so, why not?

I have bought small stocks of 3.5mm, 4.5mm & 6.35mm CuNi tube to use on my cars.
As well as being more rust resistant CuNi tube is a bit more ductile so bends and flares easier than steel tube.
If made up pipes are ordered from Pleiades (01487 831239 - pleiades@tesco.net) then they will supply CuNi on request.
Flare nuts supplied for 3.5mm pipe are usually large flat 10mm ones not the small flat Citroen 8mm ones.
That cuts down the risk of the nuts getting rounded with use.
I am sure Pleiades will be happy to quote for making up your pipes.
My pipe supplies came from Malcolm Lockwood (01274 640590 - http://www.mlockwood.org.uk).
To work with the pipe you need a flaring tool with dies to suit Citroen pipe sizes and flare shapes plus stock of the flare nuts.
Good quality flaring tools cost between £70 and £400 depending on the sizes and types of flares to be made.
They are also hard to find supplied with the Citroen dies.
Getting someone to make up a few pipes to order is the cheapest way unless you are repiping complete cars.

Thanks, I'm heading there to check out the possibilities.

Ooops, no website but a Facebook page. Then I'll write...

No, producing my own pipes isn't the solution I'm after, I'll be perfectly happy with them made to order...
