12 months MOT – Carried out at main Peugeot Dealer - Not even an advisory at MOT!
Luke from FrenchCarForum bought this car from the original keeper in NI, when Luke was downsizing his fleet I bought this car off him and have spent a great deal of time and money restoring the car to it’s former glory. It’s still registered in Luke’s name so it’s not adding any more keepers to the cars history.
When I got the car from Luke it had been sitting in a garage for 7 years as the previous owner had lost his licence for medical reasons. When it was dragged out of storage it wouldn’t start. This was due to the starter motor having seized.
Over the last 12 months I’ve carried out the following work to the car:
• Replacement starter motor (Genuine)
• Replacement radiator and cooling system pipes (Genuine, £360 worth!)
• Replacement timing belt and tensioner (Genuine)
• Replacement exhaust, centre section and back box (Genuine)
• Replacement crankshaft sensor (Genuine)
• 5l of LT71141 gearbox oil, drained and refilled (Genuine)
• Replacement oil filter and engine oil (Genuine)
• Replacement Sat Nav DVD Drive & Maps Disc
• Rebuild kit for front brake calipers
• Replacement front brake discs and pads (Genuine)
• Replacement rear calipers (Pagid)
• Replacement rear discs, pads and pad fitting kit (Pagid)
• Brake fluid has been changed as well
• 4 new tyres fitted to the vehicle
• Replacement brake light, sidelight and indicator bulbs at the rear
• Assortment of nuts & bolts for rear calipers, disc retainers, arch liners and belly panel etc.
The bodywork on the car is generally in very good condition for it’s age. There’s a mark on the corner of the front bumper, and a mark on the tailgate, other then this every other panel on the car is unmarked.
All of the wheels on the car are pretty much unmarked, the tyre pressure sensors that are fitted to each wheel still function exactly as they’re supposed to and each of the tyres has a good 6mm plus of tread.
The interior on this car is totally unmarked. Underneath the mats on the vehicle it still has it’s clear plastic sheets above the main carpets in the car that were fitted at the factory.
Everything electrical on the car works as it should. The sat nav functions perfectly, the radio, single slot CD player and the CD changer work perfectly. The cruise control will hold the car at whatever speed you set it to all day long.
The engine starts first time, every time and purrs beautifully on all 6 cylinders. The gear change is spot on and is just as smooth as it was the day it left the factory. When braking the car pulls up nice and square without any juddering or pulling to one side.
Both Xenon headlights work and are a nice clean light with no signs of purple coming through as they do when the bulbs are starting to fail.
Before the car sells the bodywork will have had a full machine polish and the interior will have had a good clean and shampoo.
The MOT tester said that this car is in better condition underneath it then a lot of 3 year old cars that he MOT’s are and as a result it sailed through it’s MOT without even an advisory.
I don’t think money will buy a better C5 then this one. It drives beautifully.
Price wise I have no idea what to value the car at as it's had so much work done to it. It is a V6 Petrol C5 so will never be worth a fortune, I do however know what it owes me so with this in mind I invite offers on the car.
Here's the only pictures I have of it at the moment. I will however get some better ones once it's been machine polished and is ready to go.

Here's one of the radiator pipes that was replaced: (this little bugger on it's own cost £60!)
