FREE...Onyx S1.5 Turbo MANUAL running gear

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

FREE...Onyx S1.5 Turbo MANUAL running gear

Post by roddew » Thu Jun 11, 2015 9:52 am

Hi guys, long time etc...
have the remains of much loved Onyx which has to go...full service history (113k-ish?)
Ran like clockwork and went like stink. Would like to see it go to an appreciative home.
What there is:- front end cut off at firewall (similar to the 24v that David had) ..rad and intercooler gone, but most of other underbonnet stuff there. Been stood a while so some surface rust. Believe the gearbox on this model was not the same as other manuals (Paul?..anyone)
can be loaded as is to take home (mechanical assistance available) or you can come and dismantle on site and take what you want....I can dispose of the rest. Just a short distance from M6 J3...Coventry.
Any questions, please ask.

Rodders.

Hi Rodders sorry I never came back to collect this! Unfortunately got made redundant so couldn't afford to get down there. Let me speak to wifey to see if I can get some funds for collection of the engine block.

...first come, first served, guys. Seems a shame for this stuff (which is getting rarer) to go to waste; but I simply have no time these days. The friend who has been kind enough to store this for me has now said that he'd like it gone.
I'll help all I can, but please don't expect me to dismantle it for you so that you can just "cherry pick" the juicy bits without effort.
Can easily load "as is" if you want to take it home to work on at leisure. surely worth the cost of a rental for a day? What's left will weigh in to offset some of that cost.

Bottom line is that if no-one can come up with anything positive in a reasonable time scale...sadly it will have to be weighed in.

Have not given up on XM's .....still have a few irons in the fire but they are on ice (to mix metaphors!) while life gets in the way.

Talk to me guys!!! I really don't want to have to scrap this.

If R comes to it could you take some small bits off before weighing it in as they are tiny things really :)
