'99, 2.1 auto estate Plymouth

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

In my experience they all have head gasket issues at around 150,000 miles although Paul wouldn't agree with me, even the last one I bought, the white estate which had been well maintained and had plenty of antifreeze, failed at almost exactly 150k, lack of antifreeze can cause them to fail earlier, the green estate failed at about 120k but has done 70+k since I replaced it, until my wife wrote it off. I have also owned two others both of which failed at about the same mileage.Mind you I don't know if you would call that an issue its more than a lot of modern cars last, but, it is really the only weakness of the 2.1 engine, otherwise they are pretty bomb proof, once you have replaced the gasket you can be pretty certain of another 150k without major problems.
