German series one 24v for sale

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

My apologies, it is not David H. that is interested, but someone called Marc, who apparently has a lot of XM spares. Anyone on the Forum I wonder and if not why not!! The listing has now ended with the car apparently unsold. With regards, Matthew T.

Mathew,

I bought my first XM from Germany, reason was I wanted a manual box and not the usual auto for the 12v PRV we got here. After the sale, a stop at the local ADAC (DVLA) to put it on my name, pay about 100eu for a 2-week insurance, and I was driving my way back via Holland and Belgium (and the Bluestar ferry from Bruges to the East of Scotland). Memorable trip!

I wouldn't hesitate doing it again, most Germans speak good English -which is good as I don't speak a word of German-.

cheers

Must confess it's me that's contemplating bringing this car in from Germany, still negotiating but looks likely now. After about 10 years worth of 2.5's, I bought a late V6 about 3 months back, fixed a few things, got an MOT and have been enjoying it especially the power ever since. It's a nice car but I don't really like the auto box. I'm getting more tolerant of not having proper control, but would prefer a manual V6. Thought about pulling the engine out and fitting a manual box from a Peugeot - looks straightforward if I can figure out how to fit the clutch pedal and pipe work from a 2.5. But that's a lot of work and getting this German PRV and selling my V6 would be cheaper option.

All a bit nuts, but good fun!

Cheers

Well done Marc and it will be good to have another series one 24v on British soil, and with Diravi as well! Please let us know how you get on. With regards, Matthew T.

Here is a translation of the German text, including an explanation for the missing seats!!:
I particularly like this phrase:
Anyone who has a slaughterhouse car can build up in the value of these XM rising again.

[scratches head] Uhh, translation software :? :? :?

He means anyone with a parts car can rebuild this without risk as the price of XM's is now rising.
