XM Limos

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

well i suppose its very possible it got the twin turbocharged Alpine engine, but the xm engine bay really doesnt have the space for a pair of turbo's and intercoolers with that pointy nose, if it is a turbo then i would be tempted to ditchthe xm/Xantia/Belmont body and put the running gear in a standard car, now that would be a special bit of kit.

Why stop there - go all out for a twin or a quadruple turbo'd 24v in a 'normal' bodyshell?
As it happens, without the nonsense of balanced manifolds and the spaghetti downpipes
the 12v uses, unbelievably, there's actually more room in this area of the engine bay in the 24v'er too...

Actually, there's an opportunity missed Robert; a proper Prestige Xm saloon
would be quite a car in the way a standard Cx saloon looks like a sawn off
shotgun next to the more balanced Safri wheelbase Prestige/Limousine!!

Any pictures of the stretched rear Xm then. I've seen some ridiculously
elongated Xm's whereas a subtle stretch would be nicer.

On the other hand, I'd really love to have one of these:

May need some space (and decent struts!!) to open the tailgate mind!!

Least the Xm guy doesn't have to worry about that seized sunroof anymore
but there's another pair of alloys to worry about kerbing!

Is it a V6 I wonder - there's certainly enough room in the back for an LPG tank
under the boot floor. I'd love it just to scare the neighbours...

I'd love one too. They were French so will be diesel, I guess.

The headroom would be a real bonus for me.

I hope Mr Tissier used a 2.5 as his base car!

For the XM "Prestige"

According to the owner the wheel base is 307cm rather than 285cm for a normal XM. Also this XM is 2cm Longer than a CX Prestige. Apparently only 5 of these cars were made by the Dutch company Boonacker.

I quite like that as it's been thoughtfully done. Thanks for posting them Robert.
I had a Google for converted Xm's and found this curio:

it's a link as it's copyrighted so I haven't posted the shots I'd already put into
photbucket before realising!

How to make a Limo then. 2 Cars, a base car, and a donor to chop part of the roof and floor from, and to use parts of front and rear doors to fill in the side gap!

Both of those work surprisingly well, the limo looks really good, but ideally needs the door swage line to add the finished touch.
