Breaking - XM 2.5TD VSX Estate

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi John,

I can't remember the number of plips, but I think that the condition was good - I'll find out.
RE Location, the XM will be broken at Manea, Cambridgeshire.

I will have the strut heads as they are the larger type and do not fit Pauls 2.1 unless he takes the struts as well.

Does the rear n/s elecky window machanisam work the same for the estate as the hatch, my cables have shot themselves round in the motor, so in need the a replacement ???

And just a quick question, !! i'm getting a loud buzzing noise coming from under the dash on passenger side when i turn the igition on , could it be a relay ? of some sort ?? , not heard it before up until today ,,

Any thoughts

Nigel
Seeing as estate and hatch doors are identical BAR the plastic "Extenstions" stuck on the door tops, the winders in the rears will be the same!

The winders will physically fit but they are not the same construction.
Citroen dumbed down (cheapened) the design of Mk2 winders.
Plastic slides are less robust.
The main frame is thinner pressed steel and includes a channel wire guide at one end.
Make sure that this channel guide is well greased before fitting.
The Mk1 versions have virtually friction free wire guide wheels at both ends of the frame.
For all doors except the drivers door provided I can get one I fit Mk1 ones where replacements are needed.

Sorry to everyone expecting pictures of some XM parts today...my circumstances changed and meant that I couldn't get to the XM.

Tomorrow however, is a certainty! :D

Paul, here are some pictures of the struts underneath, after a quick wash:

Nigel, the N/S rear window works fine...goes up and down well even with a rather dead battery on it!

John, it has the one plip and I have removed the receiver today. Condition of the rubber was good too.

Due to space and the fact that scrap is at £130 a ton, the XM will be going to the scrapyard on Monday morning.
I can't get to the car before that time so today I managed to get the main parts that people are normally interested in off, and the ones from enquires.

Nigel and John..I've just sent you a PM about the parts you enquired about...unfortunately though Paul I didn't get the struts/strut tops off but they didn't look in the best of conditions IMO.
