Re: LPG XM for sale on Ebay
Interesting discussion.
I mentioned the manufacturer of the LPG purely from a parts and support point of view. As mentioned most of them are made in Italy by just a couple of companies. The tank in the boot isn't a problem as such but it does spoil the ability to drop the seats and get a very generous load area for those bulky loads. A tank under the floor and a space saver gives you better options.

Re: LPG XM for sale on Ebay
The owner who put in the cumbersome LPG installation must have had his priorities. (Straight to him/her, perhaps).
So did my brother who for years drove an LPG XM. He had a 40 litre tank in the boot, located to the side, and you could still USE that boot to carry a lot of stuff and you could fold down the seats. He figured mileage - in km - was 8 km to the litre of gas and he would tank up every 300 km or so. Of course with the flip of a tiny switch you could revert to petrol. I once borrowed the car for a couple of weeks and was very satisfied with that set up
What's for sale is excentric indeed. The car itself and what the conversion did to it. The placement of the battery tops it all

With the new dumbed down eBay where you can't 'investigate' bidders so easily
cloaked behind anonymity it's not possible to see patterns with shill bidding...

Hi Jan,
What is your fascination for the Queens English on a car forum?

If you need to know Stephen, fascination for [with] the Queens English is not the point. The point is that intelligible English in modern communication is becoming more and more a thing of the past. The text messaging practice to write everything in lower case letters, all words connected without even proper conjunctions and total disregard for punctuation irritates me.steelcityuk wrote:Hi Jan,

Sending SMS mail to your buddies, family has to be done fast, fast. We have so much to say and there is so little time. Yeah. No time anymore for proper language. So revert to gibberish. And this is only a car forum you say? Someone said it before, the only requirement is a genuine interest in Citroen cars. Ignoring the importance of proper language use in my humble opinion is an insult to one's intelligence. Just my 2 cents, uhh, pennies.

Re: LPG XM for sale on Ebay
OK Jan,
If you're going to get 'spikey' about this here goes.
I didn't say it was ONLY a car forum, I said it was a car forum. BIG difference!
As for the English language, it is and always has been a mongrel language that is constantly evolving. If you find this hard to believe then take a look at the number of 'slang' terms that have now become enshrined in the Oxford Dictionary. I find some peoples' incorrect use of grammar and awful spelling very annoying but this a car centric place so I just let it go.
