H reg XM 2.1 SED is now ready to go

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Ive no intention of touching it now.. Ive not got any R12 gas to put in it anyway. If the wing is attacked now then it can be sorted....

IT IS CLEAN inside! The rubber mat is marked! I really cant see how people can critisize a car being dirty from pictures...

Prehaps I need to repeat... THIS IS NOT MY CAR AND NOT ONE OF MINE.... though I have done work on it as and when needed Its NOT MINE!

Update: I'm pleased to say that this is now tucked up safely with me in Cambridge after a 6hr drive home, deafened by wheel bearings!

Took it to Chevronic Centre this morning but they didn't have the right plugs/socket to read the suspension computer on early Series 1 XM's. Rob is going to get back to me though. I was hoping for an easy fix it a sensor was highlighted as to why it had sports only suspension.

I guess I'll post up my progress and questions as I go.

Issues:
Suspension stuck on hard (spheres changed by last owner)
Wheel bearings are horrendous
Clutch and accelerator are very stiff
Exhaust is non standard and rattles a LOT

You can make a blink tester for checking and resetting the Hydractive errors.

Accelerator being stiff is probably the damper on the pump. Remove it.
The exhaust probably just wants refitting better.

By blink tester to you mean lightbulb across electrovalve to see when it is operating? I read about that somewhere.

Or, do you mean a LED to read fault codes from the suspension computer? That's new to me but I'd like to give it a try. Is there a list of codes somewhere that I've missed?
