The daddy mk2 24v

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi

Yep the V6 autos with the autobox are thirsty but not that thirsty. It depends what you want from a car. We only have drive about 5K a year in our V6 and have a Honda cdti for the 20K a year that we otherwise drive. The mpg for the V6 is almost irrelevant in this case. It's just a great car to drive round. Soooooo relaxing and very different to the diesel.

The value of the V6 on ebay I think depends on two things. 1. rarity and hence low supply+reasonable demand = decent price. 2. Very skillfully written ebay listing (rebuilt car, 40k (???) miles ) etc .....

I'm finding myself visiting the petrol pump MORE in the Xm 2.0 TCT and the Xantia TD than I do
with the Xantia fitted with the engine in weekly to/fro use - in fact, I'd use it ALL the time if it
wasn't for the fact that it's only covered 56k miles and I don't want to hammer it into the ground
as a daily hack as it's FAR too good for that.
I'm finding this a test in English syntax :D

Syntax? Aren't they a new type of mint?

Most of the time my mind is about a sentence or two ahead of my typing - I'm actually
surprised if anything is vaguely coherent and in any shape that makes sense!!
I need to proof read more before I post although find I'm seemingly always in a hurry
to be reading the next thread or sorting some other job on the cars out!!

I was just about to place a 'New post' up for this but I had an incline that this one had been discussed with the sellers quote re the 'mileage/engine/gearbox' :-
E-bay Seller wrote:The car has sailed through its MOT today so now has 12 months MOT.
Mileage of car approx 135,000, although the engine and gearbox have been replaced in the past and have done approximately 70,000.
We were given the mileage details by the previous owner and, in the four years we have owned and run the car, have had no reason to doubt the validity.

We have service history from the time we have owned the car (September 2009), but nothing much before then.
I therefore ran a quick forum search for 'R271 HKV' and found this old thread so I thought it best to just resurrect this thread with the new F/S spot !
ThwartedEfforts wrote:My car is R142 HKV and is ex Citroen UK, suggesting this one R271 HKV has a similar history!

Showing as Sold for £1220 !

The quote below was made on 1st July 2009 when it was sold/bought by the current E-bay seller so approx. a Grand less after 4 years of ownership, so not too bad for that duration of ownership !
bitonthesidexm wrote:At £2200+ I hope the new owner is happy with it - way overpriced in my book but love is blind! I am nearer Peter's sort of money - and I have one lined up! Yippee!
Is the new owner a forum member ?
