1993 2.0 sei auto for sale - Now sold!!

Disappointingly my XM did not reach the ebay reserve although I have had an equivalent offer through advertising on Car & Classic. The problem is I am now tempted to keep the car as I love it so much! At this stage my plan is to advertise the other car I might be able to let go, my 1992 2.0 sei manual, and see what interest that brings, so watch this space! Unfortunately I will have to pass on one of the two cars. With regards, Matthew T.

That's a shame Matthew, and really ebay's fault for mucking your auction up. I would find it hard to let it go, but I would say...the silicon grey is a rarer colour.....

Now that would be rather amusing...two XM's in the same colour and a pic of different engines.... hmmmmm!!

Many thanks Russ and here are some photos of my early 2.0 sei manual by way of a preview! It is an unusual colour as you state and really attractive too!
I have had the car since 2006 with around 95K and the only time it let us was when a radiator hose sprung a leak.
The mileage is now about 135k and recent work has included four new tyres and exhaust manifold gasket, cambelt and gearbox oil changes.
Those of you who know this model will appreciate the handsome leather and wood trim with every possible gadget fitted (except heated seats) and a manual gearbox is a very rare beast. I am hoping for offers in excess of £1,500.

That is a real shame Matthew, its a lovely car the red one, as are all of your XMs.

It would seem the car market is slow at the moment, I keep an eye on ebay and other advert sites, cars seem to be either selling for less than they should be or not selling at all.

I really fancy an XM again and one of yours would be perfect, especially the manual SEi as thats about my ideal XM. However, I have too many cars myself at the moment, I've got them trained to breath in on a night now ...

I am pleased to report that the car is now sold and I managed to get £1,350 in the end! Although the interest was fairly good the ebay bids were not up to much and the eventual buyer made contact through Car & Classic. Hopefully she is going to a good home! With regards, Matthew T.

If there is anyone out there after a late S1 full spec auto petrol turbo XM with relatively low mileage I am confident you will not find a better example and (currently) at a more reasonable price!!
