Why is a complete driveshaft required, it's normally just the Cv joint has worn?

Which ever. Its finding the correct cv an issue to. A cv joint was found but did not fit..

Autodoc appear to have a selection of CV joints for 2.0 petrol engines, though do appear to have a different P/n just for the 130bhp engine...which is odd.
The requester needs to count the number of teeth on the splines to be sure.
My understanding is there are only two types fitted to S1, Xm.
Smaller ones for lower power engines and Be3 gearbox.
All the rest with Me5T gearbox.

Yes correct will. I think ebay sellers are a bit un aware of this as they seem to list them as suitable for 2.0i.. 2.0 Tct and 16v.. Which of course they arent
anyway. I think the owner has managed to get a suitable refurbed one now. So this wanted post is no longer valid..
