Yes thats right. A first to UK RHD V6 Si spec has come up available. Its a PROJECT without doubt, its been sat a while.

THIS IS NOT MY CAR...
Its a 1990 G reg .. so first to the UK with dealer webatso sunroof rather then a factory pressed one.. which makes a difference in the car.. ask me later..
1990 G reg.v6 si YES Si and being 1990 it has.manual gearbox too.. no leather, no ac, and no alloys but on a set of steels .. the alloys are else where.
Its been stood a.good few years and is therefore a.PROJECT ... the car has been offered 400 scrap at current stupid prices. Id expect that be a starting price. The car is in area of WIDNESS... the owner is aware its slightly rare, and would be interested in a save. We have access to the owner.. serious enquiries can be forward or number passed on with permission. Reg obscured by request also.

The car is a project and non runner. I'm told there is engine harness damage between the banks.. or id be more inclined to think injectors or to knock sensors.

Reply here and either me or Citjon can contact the seller.

The wheels from this car are on Ebay. The lister said the car was only available until Yesterday (Wednesday)

Looks like a great project, not cheap, but early, decent condition and basically complete.
I can't imagine too many people wanting to take on a fire damaged Xm.
Judging by hte ahstray and front passenger seat, the sunroof tray is leaking.

I initially contacted the seller via eBay to express interest in the complete car and he agreed to hang onto it for a bit longer.

It's a long way from me and another dead XM turning up would probably lead to divorce!

Still quite tempted though...

I was seriously thinking about this last night as a breaker for manual conversion.
I am assuming the rust is at best, bad, and due to the fire the whole loom, coolant and fuel system is literally toast. Looks like it will require fast action and about £500 at least to secure the car, £600 more for transport to me.
I have a spare engine stripped right down but missing spare v6 mounts, alternator brackets, pump cradle, water pump and bottom pulley.
Minimum spend of £1100 for a manual setup and spare engine, for no good reason at all mind you, is a bit silly.

I do have access to a G plate 2.0si manual in white with the same leaking sunroof as this one, but again, the rust is strong.

Wales to Southampton is about right @ £600 with Shipley.....I would think getting it over to the IoW would be a good bit extra......I looked at renting a Transit flat-tail, that came in about £80-160 per 24hrs dependant on the age of the unit (large firm/little local guy)

I could of cheated for the last bit with an empty flat bed lorry returning. Even so It is too much for a car of unknown brown and missing all the hard to find burnt bits.
