As title listing spotted on E-BAY decent condition with 4 owners, MOT June 2011 and recent cam-belts/tensioner changed and good looking N/S strut top (O/S not shown), chrome moldings look decent too, shame it has not got the O/E alloys fitted but will still make a nice 2.5 TD Exclusive for someone with the other minor bits sorted out !

Hi, this my wifes car, both strut turrret are in good condition, the alloys are from our previous car, the originals that came with the car are in the garage, she had problems with wheel vibration, the wheel bolts had flat washers, not cone fitting, which seemed the cause the wheel bolts to come loose. The currently fitted alloys are much smoother.

Reason for sale? we are both in our mid to late sixties too many cars to keep clean.

we have to reduce are collection, currently.

Jaguar XJ6 X300
Citroen CX DTR
SAAB 9-3 convertible
Alfa sports
Focus 1.6

I am going to buy a Fiesta Fusion and put a blanket in the back. oh no!

Hi Guy's.
Rather than putting up a new 'Spotted/For Sale' for this 2.5 TD Exclusive I thought it best to continue the posting in this thread !
So as no one off the forum has come forward to buying it from the last time it was on E-Bay I hope my finding's will not upset any one (if they are indeed on here, sorry) but no one should under-estimate the power/source of the modern media and internet, also that this is a Public Forum !

I'll start by saying because I do own, search and follow the 2.5 TD's more than other XM's that are For Sale, so it's that what sparked off my Elephant Memory again !

I thought I can remember a Metallic Blue 2.5 TD Exclusive being offered on E-Bay in summer time as it was fairly local to me with this only being down the road @ Leicester, as I was going to have a bid but it had non standard alloy's on it plus some expensive to put right bumper/body damage which then put me off placing a bid on it when the bidding rose to more than I expected !

The current E-BAY seller (alexphipps44) bought from forum member (jheath17) who left the following feedback for the current owner/seller:-
E-Bay Seller-(pollypoo44) wrote: Super quick collection, prompt payer, smooth pleasant transaction,
Buyer:Member ID alexphipps44 15-Jul-10 20:21 1995 CITROEN XM EXCLUSIVE 2.5 TD BLUE (#270602388393)

The feed back that the current owner/seller (alexphipps44) left for (pollypoo44) was :-
E-Bay Seller-(alexphipps44) wrote: Very pleasant people, car not quite as described though, easy transaction
Seller:Member ID pollypoo44 19-Jul-10 07:46 1995 CITROEN XM EXCLUSIVE 2.5 TD BLUE (#270602388393)

So this is the next bit of the puzzle I cannot 100% understand, why is it that when you click on the E-BAY link below in the quote box which was from my original post back in 'Sun Jul 04, 2010' it actually opens up the current owner/seller's listing :?

Surely something is NOT kosher that this old link has linked it to the current listing, unless possibly some dispute was lodged due to the feedback comments left by the current owner "car not quite as described though" also the link flags up a reference to 'Product ID: EPID62340640' , IIRC normally any old E-Bay listing's do not display anything if over 90 day's old ?

So guy's, what are your thoughts/comments ?

Peculiar. It looks quite decent, not like a lot of the tat on e-bay. A new rear lamp cluster and original wheels would help it a lot.

Hi XMX

Is this a fluke and a peculiarity of the latest version of Ebay.
Perhaps Ebay now deals differently when asked for expired adverts.
Maybe it now searches for current keyword matched live adverts and displays those.
Not many 1995 Blue 2.5 XM cars on at present.
A system of that type would by very good at finding repeat sales of the same car.

Just a thought.

The link appears to be opening the same listing, in which case I would say this is a forum issue, not an ebay one.

Hi Will,
I don't think it's a Forum issue as I sent the same post to someone via E-Mail who's not on the XM Forum and the E-Mail behaves/works identical to the forum link's !

The link doesn't open the list for me but performs a search and shows one listing which i have to click. The text of the original link and where you end up also changes.

this is where i end up-

http://catalog.ebay.co.uk/1995-CITROEN- ... -/62340640

this is what the original link text is-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... Track=true

So it looks to me like some sort of auto redirect is being performed by ebay.
