Wanted 2.1 with A/C

Hi folks. A repeat of this plea from other forum.

We could do with finding a reliable, but not necessarily tidy 2.1 with aircon. and Bosch injection. Other preferences will have to take a back seat for now, but we're in a little bit of a rush to find something.
Have spoken to the guy selling the car below in Bristol, but not totally convinced to go for it. Rust in sill and A/C doesn't work. Bad series 11 experiences also count against it.

Regards Rodders & Pat.

Hi Rodder's,
Okay it's not an XM, but maybe next best which has GREEN BLOOD running thro' it and a 2.1 TD lump !
/\ motor already mentioned in THIS thread.

BTW having had a second look thro' the photos of the 2.5TD mentioned /\ the N/S sphere look's a little too close for comfort to the bulkhead/flange, could be time for a replacement suspension strut top a least on that side (If not both) ?

Thanks, XMX for the suggested Xantia, and right on the doorstep, too!! Sadly Pat's MS is the reason that we need the interior space that the XM provides so well in addition to the ride comfort. We undertake long (1650 miles/up to 48 hours) trips and she feels that the Xantia would be little better than the 405 that we gave up a while back.

Still looking, but time running out so may have to go with a leaking injector pump on 2.5 we have and fit new seals under the olive tree in the garden.

Regards, Rodders & Pat.

If you already have a car and it's good apart from a leaky diesel pump, then I'd just do that, it's not difficult or costly.

I think you would find the regular Xantia seats uncomfortable. The sports seats in the Activa are good, but the others are very poor.

Hi Rodders

I would stick with the one you have, 2.1s are very thin on the ground now, unless you dont mind an auto, the last manual Mk2 estate I saw for sale was two years ago, and I bought that, I have been looking for another ever since - perhaps I should have bought that Mk1 ..... :?

I was getting excited there when I saw the Co. Antrim plate on it, then noticed it was in Londonshire.

Good proof that Autos can last if looked after though.

Rather nice that, if it wasn't auto I might be tempted, my first XM estate was that colour and it had aircon, and it was only about three year years old :(

Could you not do a manual conversion Peter? You have all the bits there.
