If I was after a late low mileage VSX, I think I would have a proper look at this.

Auto and hatch tick my boxes but not the price, even though it is relatively close to me.
I've driven a 2.5 but not a 2.1. How do they compare for performance?

2.1s aren't as quick as 2.5s, but they're not pedestrian either.
Autos will be slower than manuals, but this has never been a problem for me.
With 2.1s you have more access under bonnet, and you don't have the 2,5s appetitie for radiators either. The ultimate is the mechanical Bosch pump if you fan find one.

I've just been out in my 2.1 manual and was enjoying driving it so much I took it for a good long country laning session. Given it's head I can definitely say it goes OK..

I have driven both, the 2.5 has more oomph if you really need want it but I find the 2.1 quite adequate - and a lot more reliable

^ and economical. You just can't stretch the economy on a 2.5 like you can a 2.1.

Broach Hill Garage took this in from a customer, they are just a mile from where I have been working for the last month. I showed interest but they hadn't figured out a price. I left my number but no call. I went in and they still hadn't figured out a price but suggested about £1,800, and said they would get back to me. That was about two weeks ago. Sounds like they got cold feet and sold it on in the trade, thereby sidestepping any such thing as warranty issues, or perhaps its not quite right. Who knows.
Note the towbar and double electrics, it's probably been towing a caravan.

Why not go into Broach Hill and ask why they moved it on.
