Hi there,

Just wanted to let people on here know about the XM I'm currently selling on eBay. It's an MOT failure sadly, but it has been garaged most of its life, so the bodywork is in very good shape. Auction ends on Sunday evening, and it will go as the reserve has been met. Bidding currently stands at £260.

Hi Peter and welcome to the forum.

I've already put a LINK up for your XM on the 14th of March !

Do you know where/what the issue is with the cooling system, also has the driver seat-back outer bolster seam split/worn thro' or a repaired patch on the seat-base bolster(Picture #7 on your E-Bay listing) ?

BTW, nice looking Exclusive in White complete with the 'Exclusive' badge still on the back of the hatch and with both head-lamp washer covers too !

All the best with the sale and to the prospective new owner.

:)

Aha, thanks for posting that link - I didn't realise!

The side of the driver's seat is a bit threadbare - hasn't been patched. The rest of the interior is in really good nick though - the previous owners to us were an elderly couple, and my wife and I don't have kids (yet! give it approx 5 weeks!) and I don't think anyone has ever really sat in the back, so there's no wear there.

Didn't know that headlamp washer covers were a common problem, but yep, they are there. Was amazed the first time I saw those washers pop up - a classic bit of XM over-engineering, surely?!

I really hope it goes to somebody who is able to fix the mechanical problems, as the bodywork (with the exception of the front bumper, which has been reattached at some point), is practically as-new. Unfortunately we're not really set up to run this kind of car at the moment (no garage, not many tools, and zero expertise), but we think it's a really great design and will be sorry to see it go.

Thanks again for posting the link.

Wow, not bad for a fairly well worn car with no MOT. It was at £360 less than 10 minutes before the end.

Hi - Nerve-wracking stuff, particularly when it was stuck at £350 with about 2 minutes to go! Fingers crossed now that everything goes ok with the buyer - I don't think he uses this forum, but I'll have to point him in this direction if not. At least I am optimistic that he is going to keep it on the road.

Thanks all who took interest in the car.

...with a bit of TLC someone will have a desirable car - low miles too for a 2.5TD!
