Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

My XM has got a set of Magny-Cours centreless alloys and because the spare wheel well is occupied by an LPG donut, I have no steelie spare for it...
I might need one if the driveshaft hub nuts are FT when I come to undo them. My normal way to do these nuts is to put on a steelie and get at the nut through the centre and use the whole weight of the car as a torque counter. Sometimes if I'm lucky I can undo the hub nut against the handbrake but will never guarantee it.
If anyone has a suitable steelie and could bring one to CXM perhaps? I have a steelie I use with the Xantias but that's only got four stud holes...
Thanks

Jim

The way I undo the hub nut is to put two wheelbolts back in and place a crowbar through the two bolts to the ground or against my foot.
Never be tempted to undo a hub nut without wheelbolts through the disk, otherwise the disk retaining screw will be sheared.

Hi Jim
Your Alloys will be either "Monte Carlos" or more likely "Ville de Monte Carlo".
XM's have to be different.
The wheel bolts are different for each.
The MC's have flat washer Alloy bolts and the XM steel spare has welded steel flat washers to match.
The later alloys use a combined bolt with both taper and flat washer.
The spare to match this is a standard steel using tapered bolts or the taper on the alloy bolts.
I have a wheel ramp with a couple of bolt holes drilled in the top angle bar.
Use it bolted to the hub for the odd time when there is no other way of undoing the hub nut.
That and the metre long shifting bar combined make sure no nut resists for long.

Thnaks John
Ahh, and there was I thinking the because the look identical to MK1 Exclusive Xantia alloys (bar the extra stud) they'd have the same name. Silly me

This is a Citroen after all....
Mine have flat washers only.
I only need the wheel for hub nut removal purposes as the LPG donut effectively rules out carrying a spare unless it goes in the boot...

Volvo space saver is the answer for that problem Jim.
And more readily available than XM rims.
