It looks like an attractive car, and excellent value for money.

A nice very early car with red steering wheel badge.
The low mileage makes it a bit too nice to chuck a diesel engine into it.

I've seen another with 50k on which has a good shell and just needs some small bits doing...and it's an auto so easier as I have an auto diesel with rust.

Just the ticket then.

Not quite, it's only a i spec and it's Triton green...
Being honest, I don't really need the work right now and if doing it would rather make it a manual gearbox.

Very nice early, low mileage example and in my favourite colour Platinum too, just a shame it is not in sei trim and a V6!! Looks like a fair price as well and I hope she goes to an enthusiast. Regards, Matthew T.

Hi All,
I've bought this car from EMG. I'm an XM newbie but a Citroen fan, having previously owned a CX GTI and with fond memories of travelling in family CXs when I was a lad.
This car is wonderful, so fresh and tight to drive with no funny noises. The only problem I've found is a weak accumulator sphere and sometimes when I activate the indicators the dashboard warning display tells me I've got defective L & R tail lights. I guess this is an electrical gremlin that the Series 1 cars were reknowned for and I'm not taking the warning too seriously. The bleep noise is slightly annoying though.
EMG serviced the car for me, fitted a new timing belt (I had a feeling it's factory original) and flushed the LHM so she's fully recomissioned and ready for service. Although I'm over the moon with it so far, the ride quality strikes me as being a little brittle. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by riding in DS, GS and CX models? On otherwise smooth roads you can feel a slight restlessness in the chassis coming up through the seat and this is annoying as I was hoping for a car that would waft in total isolation. I know it's not the Hydractive computer playing up as there is a clear difference in ride between Automatic and Sport modes, Sport becoming much firmer. The spheres were replaced 3 years ago and the car has only done 500 miles on its new spheres. Is there any chance that the spheres may have significantly depressurised through 3 years of very little exercise?
Many thanks!
Stefan
