Having diagnosed the unpleasant clacking rumbling and screeching noise as being the little non adjustable pulley wheel and luckily nothing more terminal .

I wonder if anyone has a good one spare or can lead me to a source of a replacement.

Main dealer was stocktaking so no joy there. I have not removed it yet, so has anyone had experience with fitting another wheel to the back plate if this is a alternative repair, or is there some peugeot/common citroen wheel that is the same, the old 304 has a fanbelt that went around a corner I recall so lots of pulleys there

I have just spent 1/2 an hour with a very patient parts man at the main dealer, he was totally frustrated as he could not find the part on the "system" does anyone have a part number?

Plan B run a shorter belt and leave out the third point in the triangle, is this possible / wise?

To further continue talking to myself, when I offered the part number to the main dealer's computer, instantly the part was found, but for some reason only known by the Citroën IT guys, the part is only listed under the Mk1 data not under Mk2, so all that what's your vin number was a waste of time.

Yep, you need to sign up to service.citroen.com

Get the part number yourself, and give it to them.
