XM Collection For Sale

This has just been posted on the Yahoo XM List....

Due to taking on a new major project, requiring space, and a new business venture, it's time for me to relinquish my XMs.
Ideally I'd like to sell them in one lot.
In practise that's not very likely so if there is any interest contact me please off line.
In total there are 6 XMs five of which are 2.5 turbo diesels, both saloons and estates.
The 6th is a 2L turbo auto which is essentially a spares car as I've had no interest in an auto XM.
Plus there are a load of spares many are S1 3 litre parts.
There are also a few pairs of strut tops some of which are new and both 22 and 25mm.

Also things lying around like towbars, wings and spare wheel carriers.

The icing on the cake is a 2.5 estate lying with the last brand new and complete, as yet unfitted, still with factory plugs and seals, 2.5 turbo engine.
The old engine is out as it was wrecked by driving through (not by me) a flash flood which was deeper than expected!!!
So it's in bits which provides certain logistical problems.

I'm offering them here first but they do have to go as do my other 'toys' both cars, trucks, trailers and machinery.
If anyone wants more details I can post them as they come through on XM-L.

David.

All you need is a new shell to be worth putting it in!

Having spoken to the seller I've been informed that the 2.5 engine is to go with the complete car. Apparently the engine won't go on it's own.

The car that the new 2.5 engine is for will apparently make a concours 2.5 Estate in black with black leather very easily.

I am aware of the history of the black estate and the unused engine.
From memory the shell has done well under 100k so a good match for the engine.
XMX with his XM ebay sales records may turn up the adv ( cir 4 years ago East Sussex ).
Might not be as easy a project as it sounds without 2.5 experience and a pattern to follow.
An estate as a show car might well have less interest.
I had not realised that the rest of the collection had such a 2.5 bias.
My only contact with the collector was by telephone after the estate had arrived and an engine was being sought.
It quickly became clear that my spare engines would not meet the project specification.
It was also clear that the seller worked to the highest of standards.
I did though learn a lot about preping engines for storage until reused and also about strut heads from those talks.
For me taking on any of the cars involves a 800 mile round trip before purchase cost is considered.
So not viable for me to follow up.
