I am hoping to pass on some of my model collection, which include an amazing Solido 1:18 Peugeot 605 SV24, mainly to raise funds for other projects! Please take a look at my items on http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/matthewwthoma ... ksid=p3686 With regards, Matthew T.

And what projects are those then Matthew?!
I have 5 Solido XM models already. Grey original, darker grey (working lights), Vega green V6 24v, White and mandarin red. All but the original one painted by myself. They all have little imperfections hence my mods. Collected over a long period of time too you must understand...
I madly fitted the darker grey one with LEDs, so it has working lights, even flashing indicators. Sad I know. I wanted to see if I could do it!I also improved the detailing on them too as they are bit basic. I'll upload some pics of them sometime.
I also have a Renault Safrane and Xantia VSX. The only missing one is the Pug 605. I'll take a look.

Great to meet you at the ICCCR. I did see your gold V6 in the end. Very nice. Where dooooo you find them?!!!
(the Ukulele band of Great Britian was brilliant by the way!)

All the best
Russ

Hi Russ,
I am sorry for my rather belated response and let us just say there are other full-size V6 needing attention!! I was very interested to hear you had a V624v in your collection as the only model I know is a 1:43 Norev - one recently sold on French ebay for over £60 plus postage!! It would certainly be great to see some photos as you suggest.
It was also very good to meet you (and your other half and car) at the ICCCR which was a really amazing event and I glad the Ukulele band went well!! Thank you for your kind remarks about my gold V6 that I have owned about six years now and bought in slightly shabby condition for quite a modest sum from a classic back-street dealer in Suffolk (traded in).
Best regards,
Matthew T.

Hi Matthew,
I will upload some pics when I get the time. When I say a 24v V6...it is a modification created by myself from a Solido. So technically it shouldn't exist...and the engine isn't correct either. So It's a 12V V6 dressed to look like a 24V... But I couldn't resist. I only do this to slightly dodgy conditioned models. I don't want to ruin nice ones!
I believe the XM models now go for silly money. Did you sell the 605?
Anyway I was glad the ICCCR went well. The folks with me were actually my family, needed the C5 for extra space. Bex (Sister) was helping me on my stand. Very good seller infact....
She really enjoyed the event and has now got grand schemes on becoming a DS owner!
As I said before, your V6 is rather nice....not many gold ones around now, you have done very well to get it such fine nick if it was a shabby one. I look at mine and see dents and more dents, not to mention dull lackluster alloys. Loads to enjoy improving! I've seen your handy work on the V6 engine from previous posts. Well done how do you all do it! Well I hope the other V6 project goes well. Must catch up at CXM.
All the best
Russ

Well here is my collection of 1/18 XMs, C6, MK3 C5, CX, Xantia and .......a Renault Safrane! I do have more, including Pluriel, C2, Ds's Mehari, 2CVs ect. Not to mention the other 70-80 1/18 models.
Sorry about the quality. One of the XM's has working LED lights. Sad I know!!

It was very good to meet you and your family again on the weekend Russ with many other old and news faces and what a great collection of models! I especially like the XM with added engine detail and the lights too!! In response to your earlier query, my two Solido 605 models did sell on ebay, with the 1:18 going to Brazil and the 1:43 to Russia! Best regards, Matthew T.

That Mandarin one looks great and I'm sure those light are better than the real ones.

Hmm... White XM's....

Thanks chaps. It was great to see you again Matthew. The famialiale had a great time! ...they now understand XM ownership.

The mandarin one, was my first 'conversion' / experiment. That's it's best side, the rear window has a large split in it.
All the engines have been improved detail wise....even the chassis too. Didn't quite get a good photo of that. The LED's are a little too white/bright really. They are able to light an entire room rather too well! I should have gone for the more realistic hue.

Not a fan of White XM's Will? I only did it as I was going through a white XM faze. Don't ask. But it does at least highlight the graphic brake up of the design. I would love to do a Gold V6 Matthew.... :D

The only guilty secret is, that isn't my entire collection. I think I have at least 80 - 90 1/18 models now. I did start collecting them in the late 80's though. So it has been over a very very long period of time. I even have a Red Alfa spider just like the one in attendance over the weekend.

It's not an addiction

So there you go...I do own 6 XM's too...just 5 of them are a little small. Very reliable, but small!
