TCT 5 speed manual exclusive

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

TCT 5 speed manual exclusive

Post by zaphod » Thu Jan 17, 2013 2:46 pm

I think I am going to have to sell my manual TCT exclusive in February. Its just got a new MOT . Recent work includes changing the Turbo, replacing the infamous exhaust manifold gasket and the cambelt has just been changed along with the tensioner and waterpump. It is a very early S2 car with 150k miles. Currently returning 34mpg wich would indicate all is well.

It's only really for sale as its not being used as a daily an its a shame to have it sitting in the drive doing nothing, which is what it has been doing scince April 2011.. It's got a very comprehensive service history, however the majority of it is in French as one of the previous owners who had it from about 6 months old to 2010 used it to travel between Yorkshire and Geneva! All the parts on it are genuine Citroen parts with the exception of the accumulator sphere fitted by the chap i bought it from and the continental cam belt I fitted. It is magenta with the early S2 exclusive / S1 24v alloys and the half alcatara / cloth interior only fitted to the first year S2 exlusives, with no tips or tears. However there are signs of wear on the front seats which is common with this interior. It also has the 6 Disk CD changer fitted and the infamous dot matix issue has been attended to with the French 'zebra' strip repair.

Ther is a very slight leak from the pinion seal of the steering rack, one track rod end had a little play the passenger side rear window is not working and that's about it.

I'm looking for close to £800 for it. It's not the normal neglected high millage XM. In 2010 it also had the entire rear suspension rebuilt and a new clutch. The history with this car is probably about as good as it gets. It's main owner from near new to 2010 did not skimp on anything! I've had it from late 2010 to now but really can't justify keeping it

Ahh, so now we know the exact location of Magrathea ;)

Zaphod, it seems a shame to pass on this car after all the very hard work you've done to it..

Yes, I know, there's a bit of pot and kettle in that last statement

Anyway, I hope if you do go through with it the car ends up with a home it richly deserves...

I know, but I do have an excessive quantity of cars, and only so much time, not to mention the recycled racehorse! And I don't have the time to deal with them all. I'm not in a rush to sell it but it really should go to someone who can do a bit more than let it take root outside! Which is all I feel I have really done with it :(

No, as its a manual, for some odd reason cruise on TCTs seems to be an Auto only thing
