As some may recall I aquired this last year and apart from lending it to a freind to use while he got his aventime sorted out, sold and then looked for a replacement for his avantime have done the square root of naff all with it.. its acatually a nice car, but I won;t have the space for it much longer and its really too good for what I bought it for (to take the strut tops off for my Exclusive).

My freind has now bouugh he repalcememnt car (A multipla.. he's quiet mad) , so this is returning to me and I really ahve no where for it to go. It has an MOT till june, or july I cant remeber.

The exhust manifold gasket is in need of repalceing. Also the only window that works is the drivers side rear adn it has a leak from the sunroof (the frame the glass is bonded to is leaking). The nose cone has a crack in the passenger side, the bumper is also damged here (these last two are not bad really) and the small but of trim under the rear passegner side tail light is missing. It has the standard dotmatrix issue and the trip computer display also has 'bled' slightly. And the roof has laquer issues, not peeling but need wet sanding and polishing

However.. it's actually a very nice car despite all that! it drives spot on, its fairly low millage (103 k when I got it, it may be closer to 109 now) I got 35MPG indicated from it on a trip to milton keynes and back. It has 'Valprex' valves on the spheres, rides very nicely, no leaks nice and tidy inside.. till I started looking at the windows.. 4 good tyres starts, stops, pulls very well

Looking to get the £150 I paid for it back, It does have tax on it currently but that would be extra

I have a VSX turbo. I have taken the head off and was having new exhaust guides and valves but all the valve seats are loose so I am looking for a replacement head. My wheels could do with replacing as well so your car seems to fit the bill. The reason the valves are shot is because it has been on lpg without a flash lube fitment.
Where are you and can I drive the car?

I should have said, I am in Wantage, Oxfordshire!. I'd be very surprised if the LPG was tah casue of your issues though, I ran one on LPG for a long time with no flashlube, and it had no issues, sounds more like your system was running lean casuing excessivly high combustion temps. Was this a Closed loop lambda system?

The car is drivable, and currently taxed, but that will be comming off at the end of the month and is not included

Thanks for your quick reply. I am in Eye , Suffolk which is about 3 /3.5 hours away. I am happy to pay £150. My daughter and grand children are arriving this afternoon for an overnight stay so I cannot arrange a pickup day although it is looking like Monday. If you are ok with this I will confirm this evening.
Re lpg, I used to fit conversions and Citroens are known for guide and valve problems. I think the system (Aleisi multipoint) has been on for about 70,000 miles. The car has done 220,000. This is my first XM but I have had three CX safaris, two 2CVs and a BX turbo amongst other cars (I like BMWs, I have two 2002tii and an E30 325i tourer, all not working!)

I can make Monday between say 12.00 and 1.00 or any other day which is convenient to you.
Do you have a phone number so we can speak?

I'm just dealing with the same fault on my Cobalt car.

So far I have the frame out, glass off the frame, frame rust treated and primed with one coat, windscreen adhesive on it's way.

I've got really fed up with the car steaming up, but it took a while to locate the actual leak.
