That is quite a unique item George although I think I prefer my leather single spoker!! I had forgotten that you had a lhd V612v and I for one would be very interested to hear more!! Best of luck with the sale. Regards, Matthew T.

Hi Matthew

What I actually ended up doing through my XM ownership is exchanging steering wheels according to mood! Single spoke, double spoke, this Momo,... Single spoke is lovely but its large diameter gives a barge feeling to driving. But the best design, yes agree.

My 12v V6 is off the road since 2010, only issue was the exhaust manifold studs were becoming so broken that it was...funny driving it around. So although it had no other issue, I parked it and it's waiting since for me to do the whole job -my indy won't do it...-. It *will* be done at some point (predict 2014), I like it too much to let it go, this car is like my "first love", and I cherish the V6 alot. Just had lots going on at that time period. At least it is now in dry storage.

In the meanwhile, have been driving a faithfull green 21TD (sorned yesterday, back on road for September '13), and a good Xantia HDi.

Hi George,
I would certainly keep hold of the V6 especially as a lhd with Diravi and I would be loathed to part with mine!! At the present time I have my 12v auto engine and box out and am replacing the manifold gaskets among other things, so that may be the ideal time when the heads and/or box need doing?
Just out of interest is your V6 a late S1 or an early S2?

Hi Matthew

I actually aim to doing the manifold studs/gaskets in situ, it is possible, there's a photo stream of a Netherlands-based person showing it done, but you need a slim angle drill for the studs, should they be broken -more like an compressed-air one. That's the last bit of equipment I need to get hold of, have not decided yet if to search for and buy a slender electric/battery one, or rent a compressed-air one.

The box in that car has needed a little attention in the past in my ownership. The 5th gear was starting to be noisy, so we opened it up from the wheelarch and new 5th bearings went in. Guess alot of the 180.000 kilometers it had when I bought it were done on the Autobahns...

This Xm is what I know as a "1.5", i.e. 2-spoke steering, 2 hydractive blocks. PR 6337, from memory -July '94 was it?

As a matter of interest, where did you get the manifold gaskets from? My indy had to get them (2011) from Renault (i.e. Safrane). Cit, Pug, nada!

Hi George,
I think I know the photos you mention and as you say it is possible to do the studs insitu, if rather tight!! On the engine I currently have out there are three studs to drill out and replace.
It is also interesting to hear your car has a manual box, although perhaps they were not so rare abroad, whilst that is certainly very late even for a 1.5 as I have a 1993 2.0sei turbo with RP 6023.
Although the manifold gaskets are still available from Citroen they are the individual type and cost around £7 each, ie. £42 a set, so in the end I found some off the bay for about half that price including postage (see below).

That is a great tip on the gaskets, mine came as the individual type too, both for front and rear of the PRV, and I'd never have thought these would be readily available on ebay! I'm keen to try the one-piece ebay ones -btw, what is it that shows on your photo? Does the content of each pack belong to a specific side of the Vee? Or do they all go on one side of the Vee, one over the other? Or...?-.

Can I ask another question: where did you get studs from?

Hi George,
I had the last pair of gaskets in stock from an ebay supplier and it happened to be one of each type, whilst I have also just been informed that from BSG at least it is a now special order part!! On a previous occasion I got a complete gasket and seal set including head gaskets and the manifolds were also one piece, which does seem like a good idea.
In my case the replacements studs have been robbed from a spare engine but they must be available I guess!

Thanks for info, well, the BGA ones appear to be listed on ebay, and plenty of them -I'll give them a try if so.

Unless my memory fails me, back in 2010 or '11, I'd asked my local Glasgow Citroen for studs for this PRV (12v), and they were out of production. As this particular size (7x150 is it?) is uncommon (only PRV 12v using it [which is why they break], other engines have 8mm (?) studs), I resorted to just find some appropriate strength rods which I will trim to suit. When I come to do it though I'll check further with Cit Pug etc.

Yes it'd be a good idea putting new inlet gaskets too in my engine. Actually, my petrol hoses too are to throw away, it smells each time you drive it, and leaks some drops... But I'm happy bec it means consumption could fall :D

Hi George,
I also found the manifold gaskets listed on Amazon for around £6.50 each including postage if that is helpful and they seem to the single piece type.
The inlet gaskets are 'o' rings (3 each side) and fairly standard I guess and the petrol hose must also be readily available.
