Disposing of Citroen XM
Hi All - Has anyone an interest in a Citroen XM Turbo Diesel, bought direct from Paris via Citroen at Berkley Square, London. Registered in the UK end of 1992, registered date on documents in France 1993 with one owner from new and serviced by Citroen with all documentation. Climate control, Alloys wheels, leather and finished in Dark blue with 193,800 km (120,422 miles) on clock. This has all the other extras, colour coordinated electric mirrors, one shot electric windows etc.etc. I am probably returning to the UK next year and wish to know if i should bring it back as I drive little nowadays and my wife has her own car! This car and pictures have appeared on the forum, but if you require anymore, contact me here, or via tony.ffivevby@gmail.com - Thanks

Re: Disposing of Citroen XM
If its LHD it would probably be worth more on the continent than here. You could try it on French ebay although it may sell well in the UK. It would probably make a good price in Spain.

You might think differently when you realise the front scuttle panel is different...honestly, they are.

Re: Disposing of Citroen XM
True, but welding in a new scuttle could be a challenge.
I have wondered about converting a LHD, but would probably go for cutting the scuttle and welding in a section, to accept the Doseur valve and cabin air intake.

Re: Disposing of Citroen XM
Have just had a quick scan through the bodywork section of the Workshop manual.
That suggests that the basis XM chassis was common to LHD and RHD.
Shape pressings and fixing points seem to exist for both versions.
So to convert seems mainly plating unwanted holes and cutting the extra holes in the equivalent pressing on the other side.
The scale sketches were most interesting in seeing what changed and what was common.
There was a bodyshell change for Mk 2 production but the differences were minor and listed.
As a result the Mk 1 body shell became unavailable as a repair part in early 1995.
