Racking my brains over the differences.
I think the version type difference is the thread on the larger steel pipe.
ORGA 7077.
Nuts appear to fit but threads cross.
Pulley wheels are 110mm diesel and 140mm petrol.

According to service citroen all non acs has the same one fitted so as long as it comes from a non aircon I'm hoping it should be fine as I don't mind having the later one as the pulley still runs the same

The pipe thread change on 6.35mm flare nuts has can cause major problems.
Miss match them and at best you strip the threads on the nut.

I didn't think the 2.5 changed pipe diameters across it's age, service citroen just lists the old and new pump but the same seals and pipes for them on non ac models. Is it maybe ac models that vary?

No.
Citroen used the same 6.35mm pipes.
For some peculiar reason they changed the thread of the flare nuts.
I wrote it up a while ago but the Citroen advice sheet is now all boxed up and in store.
Best I can refer you to at the moment is the AEP ebay advert for a 6+2 pump.
They want £150 for a new one but say it only fits up to ORGA 7077.

Re: 2.5td NON AC Hydraulic pump
Just make sure to get the pipework as well if you get a secondhand one.
Flare nuts will fit the pump.
Then the worst you might need is a bit of flaring and a joiner in the pipe.

Re: 2.5td NON AC Hydraulic pump
But on service citroen it looks like two pumps, but admittedly could be one just with a different pulley setup...
