It failed its mot today and I've had enough.
Insurance have been messing around and lying to me for the last month and it really wasnt worth putting a claim through.
Want to get rid of it now BUT I want it to go to someone who will put it back on the road and repair it, Not break it for parts.
If anyone on here wants it make me an offer or its going on ebay.
MoT tester was being way too picky today and even fabricated some BS on the fail sheet so that really was the last straw for me.
Engine runs perfectly and interior is in great condition.
Car is in london and will need a vic check.
Need it gone quite soon as its parked on the street.

Why will it need a VIC? Have you accepted a write off payment, if so, how come you can sell it?

It doesn't need an offer on it to be classed as a write off :(

Looks like it just needs
Bumper
Nose come
Indicator headlight
Wing

Ideally for Paul to save as I'm sure he has all the parts!

It will need a vic check because it has been written off. The third party didn't admit liability and my insurance is paying for it. They have offered me only £600 and I am still waiting for an interim offer.
They have been lying to me a lot over the past month saying that admission of liability makes no difference to a claim and when I kept insisting they contact the other side to get admission they then told me the third partys insurance doesn't pick up the phone. nonsense like that. Not worth the hassle.
The mot tester today also fabricated some rubbish on the fail sheet so thats just added insult to injury.

I was hoping to have the car repaired and John mentioned on my other thread that theres two black xm's being broken on the other xm forum. I tried registering for that but have been waiting a few days now for admin to approve my account before I can start posting on there. It has all been very stressful and I was really hoping I would have the car would be repaired back to how it was but things have only seem to get worse hence why I have offered it for sale. If i can find the parts it needs I could easily do the work over a weekend, get it through an mot and keep the car but this is now looking very unlikely.

Your insurance company have a legal obligation to return the car in its pre-accident condition, ie repaired. I would contact the Association of British Insurers in the first instance and register your grievances..https://www.abi.org.uk/Insurance-and-sa ... -insurance
Secondly I would contact your local branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau for further advice.

They don't, only a 3rd Party insurance company can be forced to do that.

Of course it has to have had a payout made on it, that's why it is then "Written Off" the balance sheet.

A car can be completely destroyed, but if the owner neither claims, nor accepts an offer, then it can't be written off.

It seems a payout has not been made on it, only offered, so therefore how can it be written off if no payout has been made?

From my own discussions with insurance companies over the last few years if an assessor comes and seams it a write off then that's that.

The money bit comes afterwards and as some of us know can be a very drawn out process :(

An insurance company cannot write off a car they don't own. They have to buy it from you then write the value off.

That's what Written Off means.
