XM 3.0 litre V6 Exclusive for sale. Better than showroom condition, concourse winner, year 2000, auto in quartz silver. Owned from new and known in owners club as the best XM in existence! Everything completely original and just 23,000 miles, always garaged, only used in dry. Maintained in perfect condition regardless of expense with all paperwork and MOTs to prove genuine mileage.

I've met Kevin and been in the car at the Kettering rally last year and he is well known. Frankly it is perfect.

It is absolutely gorgeous and special. For something as unique as this the asking price may well be fair. Find another in the UK like that!

I do know that sort of car is far too good for me. I'd be terrified to own it, let alone drive it..

Almost reminds me of one of the last (1977) Rover P6s that was made, and turned up, trailered, unexpectedly at a 1988 Rally. The thing was a 2200TC, Avocado Green, with Mango interior. Ye Gods! Original Radiomobile sitting in the boot, unfitted by the dealer. Original tools and owners' paperwork. Possibly original air in the tyres...

Interesting, though, was the mileage - just 21! Apparently, an old man in Norfolk had ordered this (one of the last), and taken driven delivery - just 7 miles from his dealer. When it arrived, it was noticed there was damage to the aluminium bonnet. So, under warranty, back it went to the dealer (another 7 miles), and returned (with new bonnet) a while later . . . 21 miles in total.

The car was put in his garage, and the old man took to his bed, and later died. When the estate was sorted out, the car was found, and a dealer brought it to our 25th Launch rally at Alexandra Palace. Asking price was around £5000.

Even with 450 cars and their owners present, together with a good few of the original Solihull design team, absolutely no-one was interested. The USP was the mileage, and, if you ever wanted to actually drive the car, just think what each mile might have cost you in depreciation! And as if the Avocado with Mango (from early SD1) weren't enough!

I'm sure Kevin will have much better luck.

Yes, it seems a shame to sell the XM but after 13 years it's time for a change. I hope it goes to a good home.

23k is NO Miles what so ever! Hold out, you should find the right buyer soon enough..

That is lovely! Just wish it wasn't so very, very far above my budget.

Good luck with the sale, I am sure it is worth the price but it will be a matter of finding a potential purchaser sufficiently deranged to want an XM rather than something more modern and "reliable" at that kind of price. There are lots of us who fit the criteria but lack the funds, I suspect.

This is a beauty! It would make some make rash decisions Asking prices for an XM in this condition are far higher here in Japan.
