Now surplus to requirements.
Took the dash apart today and changed the bulbs. Took the opportunity to test the spare LH display. It swiped clean with all pixels present and correct. Will need two new bulbs but otherwise good to go.
£100 posted first class to your door.

Hi rob.
if its a series one lh display sadly they arent worth a lot as they rarely ever fail..
ive got about 15 of them in my shed and never needed to ever change one for failed pixels. The next sad news is they are not directly swappable into series two models and have a completely different pin connection setout in the plugs.
sorry to be bearer of bad news..

Ah well it is good to dream!
Have you got a functioning regulator for a series 1, O/S rear door? I would offer to swap for a nice LH display but.......!

Is your O/s regulator actually broken Rob or just mis behaving...??
Electric in yours too, or is it an ultra rare Manual one???

Electric. Twin pulley (good) and cast aluminium cover to spool with riveted fixing.
Three problems: It won't go all the way up, the white plastic end to the outer sheath on the top of the regulator has disintegrated, the cable is so tight it will only go over the pulley when the sheath actually pulls through the top of the central channel.
I suspect that someone has rebuilt it but badly. The cable is in excellent order.
I have a e-crofting cable kit but the broken end to the sheath makes things very tricky. I also haven't entirely got my head round all the intricacies of refitting the cable despite the excellent instructions and the words of wisdom on the forum. TBH I feel a bit inadequate on this particular problem! A bolt in replacement seems a lot more appealing if more expensive!
I have some picture if that helps?

Beleve it or not Rob, Im not good or would not even attempt a repair either! Im not that sort of fixer..
Theres something about rear off side winders. Ive had a couple of faulty ones too before now.
Im not 100% sure if I have a spare one just yet.

No worries I will cast my plea to the forum and see what appears.
I have now been under the car and will post some more pictures soon. I fear the MIG may be required for a small (well it looks small at the moment

) patch. Otherwise pretty good. Needs a good degrease at the front and a wire brush, rust kill and paint at the rear. Plus the middle silencer is a bit worse for wear. May replace or weld depending on further investigations.
Enjoy the snow
