I just picked up a set of tyres off the bay at a very good price and they came next day!

In theory I got the last four but I think there may be more available.

Keep an eye on the production date, Michelins are great tyres but they don't age well. Is that for the 2 tyres?

I tend to go more on the condition, brand and price of the tyre Jaap, since I do not do a lot of miles and most of that is on country lanes. The price is indeed for two tyres so about half the usual figure! Regards, Matthew T.

Michelins don't keep very well in my experience. They are only worthwhile if you do a lot of miles and can wear them out before they perish with age.

I don't even bother with Michelins now. I run Nokian winter tyres all year round, and put a new set on every winter.

That is interesting Robert, but I only fit Michelins myself these days as they just seem right for the car being the original tyre! Having said that I would not pay full whack!! Regards, Matthew T.

Through choice, I always fit Michelins. They are simply better than other brands. I recently put two Michelins on to replace Pirelli's on my other car. the difference is night and day.

The C5 had Michelins as standard when new, which isn't a surprise, but it's true they age terribly well before they have worn out. The rears after 18 months or so were all cracked on the side walls. So now it's on something else, can't remember what. But again, nothing beats the michelins on ride. They just suit Citroens.

Minor sidewall cracking isn't an issue, just keep using them until worn out.

Tyres are a very subjective subject, I had a full set of mich tyres that at half worn and not that old all developed bulges in the sidewall, never thought they were that great, any half reasonable brand tyre feels good when new.

I run mine to the minimum (and beyond...Oops!) I find Michelins to outperform other brands right to the canvas. I've had two brand new sets of Pirelli's and both times thought they were rubbish. Wet and snow grip is in a different league.
