V6 For Sale in Citroenian

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

V6 For Sale in Citroenian

Post by ragger » Fri May 01, 2015 9:07 pm

I see in the Citroenian that my old car is now available again having been much improved by Mark who bought it from me a long time ago. As well as mechanical improvements he has fitted a number of Series 1 parts (nose cone and spoiler).

I would love to have it back because that interior is just fabulous, but a) I have a V6 with no sun roof that I love and b) I couldn't afford it!

I really hope it finds a buyer who will continue to treat it well.

Sorry, no link because I think the ad is only in print.

These are a couple of pics from when I owned the car about 4 years ago.:

Despite having a preference for series one XM that car is a nice example, at least it was before all the bits got changed! I may be a purist, but I find it a bit strange to buy a late car and then tinker with it - why not just buy an early car in the first place!! Regards, Matthew T.

I suspect, because late cars are comparatively plentiful, have H2 suspension, better NVH, the ES9 engine and are cheaper.

Personally, I am an S1 purist, but have begun to accept late S2 Exclusives as they do drive well.

Yes, the mk2 vehicles do have far superior refinement if not styling.
Wouldn't it be great if you could have a mk2 that somehow looked like a mk1 :D

Most of the cars I have bought nobody else wanted Will, so there are/have been opportunities to pick up genuine S1, albeit now becoming a bit less frequent. I am not sure the H2 suspension is that much better and can anyway be got on late S1. The ES9 engine is smooth I grant you, but also a bit soulless and the accompanying autoboxes quite often seem to pop. The nice late cars I have seen are actually often quite pricey, due to the better condition I guess. With regards, Matthew T.
