As above really, been for sale for agges, perhaps he would sell the car for a bad price.

Nice enough looking car, shame they didn't mask the painted areas when they were paingin the bumper and chrome strips.

If he's declaring rust holes in the sills, I think a close look and prod around the inner sills at the jacking points would likely be in order, too.

This is the 3rd time its been for sale and judging by the picture, its the same seller too, i think it was first up for sale well over a year ago, and rust...........no no no, there are too many clean cars about to bother with that trial, if it was a 24v or prv fine but not for this......its an overpriced donor in my opinion.

I've actualy met the seller when I looked at a black 2.5 diesel with 265,000 miles on the clock, an auto and for £1500! Not for me. But he did sell it......eventually :o
He is a genuine bloke with a passion for citroens and large american RV's! He does a lot of work on the cars himself but like so many cars for sale, a small amount of work (pipes and welding) would see it through its MoT and hence much more saleable.
If any distant buyer wants me to look I'd be happy to view / photograph as its just up the road from where I work.

cheers

Colin

I'd be grateful if u could view+photograph. :) :) Especially with regards to exterior condition, and the rust -the advert is contradictory (always waxoiled but rust on rear of sills?)

I understand u already know some details on this car -has no MOT u say? pipes leaking? welding?

I'm prob pushing my luck here  but ,if u can take it around the block as well, or at least listen it running, that'd be excellent -now that u have a same engine'd one, your opinion would be very valuable. Although this one should be a non-cat one.

Let me know if u can make it -no pressure. Would u like me to call him beforehand or prefer doing as u see fit??

From the photos, it doesn't look like a molested car; rather tidy, but then photos aren't too good. Electric seating also -is this normal for an Si? Price is interesting -depending on spread of rust, could make a nice XM.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
George

ps. another XM with a boot that doesn't align well.

Its not the boot George, it is badly aligned lamp units and they are a sod to get right.

Yep, it is, along with electric windows all round, electric & heated Mirrors, electric sunroof, and if you're lucky whoever bought the car new may have paid for the ABS option. Also the Si Romana velour is the hardest wearing seating material.

And if u really like, also the full Dot matrix info message display, which on S1's do NOT go wrong...

Si is a very good spec... with SEi adding just leather, air con and alloys to the list..
