Scuttle trim and end caps

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Scuttle trim and end caps

Post by Onion Johnny » Wed Jul 29, 2015 10:42 pm

Any body got the windscreen scuttle panel and end caps in good condition to fit a Ser2 ? Navy Blue would be perfect but can paint if need be.

Hi there, and welcome.

If you haven't actually lost the two end pieces, but the fixing tabs are just broken, it is possible to reattach them simply by using a couple of well-placed dobs of silicone sealant. Can be pulled away later, if need be.

Panel fits but Mk1 end caps do not fit Mk2's.

If nothing else comes along, you could try haggling for these: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/JEU-DE-2-JONCTIO ... 5d5a45823a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm breaking a s2 at the moment. I can try and get them off without breaking them for you if required.

Yes please and the painted scuttle panel too. I think the screen was changed and the fitter's monkey got the job! Haynes manual tells you how to get them off. Might be helpful to warm up with a hair drier to lessen the britleness.

I find lifting the upper section over first works without snapping the lower fingers.

I've just gently taken these off using Dieselmans suggested method only to find the lower fingers are missing already. You couldn't tell with them on the car.

The scuttle is in good condition.
