WANTED: Series 1 glovebox catch

Post by Sam Skelton » Thu Aug 13, 2015 8:38 pm

Has anyone got a glovebox catch going spare? Ideally two - one for the car and one for me to dismantle and improve upon if possible.

Cheers!

Sam

Also - is the mechanism the same on S1 and S2?

S2 is rather different.
Broken hinges on them but much less often and easily repairable.

My Mk1 repair trial starts off:
Cut off a 65mm length of 3.5mm brake pipe.
Bend a 90 degree 6mm radius at 40 mm from one end.
Glue to back of release catch in place of broken plastic operating arm.
Got to sort out the 4mm pivot holes yet.
