Hello!
I'm looking for an electric rear passenger side window regulator for my series 2 XM. There appear to be none available in this country but I've found one on the French eBay but it appears to be from a series 1. I wasn't sure if it would work on a series 2? I know the driver's wouldn't but wasn't sure about the others.
If not - don't suppose anyone might have one available?
Thanks!
Matthew

Re: Rear window regulator
Hi Matthew
Yes it will fit in a Mk2.
Rears are handed so you need the correct side.
If buying from France double check the side is right (LHD/RHD).
For a particular XM door all regulator frame fixing points are the same for all models.
It is just the electrical wiring that varies with the drivers door regulatior.
For the non drivers doors I prefer to fit Mk1 regulators because the mechanical design is better.
Early in the Mk2 production Citroen dropped one of the wire guide pullies replacing it with a pressed steel friction guide.

Re: Rear window regulator
Thanks John - I best get it! Coincidentally there's another twist now as the window in question mysteriously fell open this evening and won't close! It's currently taped shut for the night but hopefully I can get it repaired soon!

Re: Rear window regulator
The dropping suggests the regulator wire is broken.
When you come to fit the replacement fix the glass in mid position to undo the glass clip.
Make this secure as the otherwise the glass can drop very heavily on fingers or arm.
You will find that clip on the outside centre near the bottom of the glass.
You have to reach round under the glass from the inside.
The limited holes in the door for your hand/arm stop you reaching the glass in any other position.
With your car being a late XM there will be a side impact tube running front to back inside the door.
This adds to the hand reach problems and also makes fiddling the old regulator out a one solution puzzle.
At least then you know how to fiddle the new regulator in.
