Hi dear colleges. I'm looking to buy Xm Break around Manchester best will be 2.1 diesel or 2.0 petrol in manual.
I had been looked this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-XM-2- ... SwuhhXWYBu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but condition is .... price is very good and suspensions is not bad (keeping level and pump is not working very often)
But inside is some damage also engine have some leaks I'm not sure how is suspension pump is working also i didn't make any test drive unfortunately but clutch pedal is very hard also brake pedal is bit hard is bit rust under the car and exhaust have some leak
But if anyone who have some more knowledge could look on it to is worth to buy and spend some money on it?
Car is a bit far away from Manchester and I don't know what to do and It is worth to go there again.
I have around 500 pound for XM because after buy probably I will need to spend next 200 for service.
Thanks.
Mike

Brake pedal should be hard there is little movement in the pedal as long as the brakes are sharp when driving and pull the car up well. ANY XM now bought for around 500 will need work on something or another at that price.

What interior damage is there? Glove box catch? Thats common... Most are like that.. Its a series one there are a couple of members here who have some spares stashed away..

Exhasut is exhaust they are available from factors. the clutch could be the main concern if itts heavy the car needs a drive to see if it slips or not but one thing its scarse or rare being a tct petrol turbo and manual box most were auto .. Check under body throughly.. And prod and poke. Lots are areas rot away from behind the under seal.. Box sections behind the jacking plates on the cills.. Front and back.. Boot floor under neath etc.. But as i mentioned it 500 quid.. There will be work to do.

Any XM estate is worth at least £500, especially a Series 1. Looking at the jacking points that are visible indicates the under-structure is not likely to be seriously rusty.
Last MOT had advisory for exhaust having minor leak, but no MOT says anything about rust, so assume there isn't any worth mentioning.

For a petrol that is a good spec car, 2.0i Turbo with manual gearbox and only 109 k miles. They only want £225, which is scrap money.
