Spotted this on EBay;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-XM-2- ... Track=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have messaged him to ask for the RP number as she looks to be a very early car.

I saw it for sale two weeks a go and it was sold for £740, to the current seller.

I asked for the reg number to get the MOT history and the then seller didn't respond to me. I now understand why. It needs a fair amount of welding.

Is this not the one that was advertised on ebay but was due to go to auction? about 6 months ago?
Im interested to find out the reg now just to see the mot history.

I suspect it syays that there is rot both front and rear for the last few MOT's, so the owner decided to keep it on the road until they knew it would fail and need welding. Given it had only a few weeks MOT left, I was surprised at seeing the bidding going up on it.

The current seller appears straightforward.

Are you sure that reg number is correct?

Not known on the MOT check site and hasn't been taxed since 1992.

That Reg number is the original number, not the current one. It seems to be difficult to obtain a current reg number for this car.

From the ebay ad:

There have been three registered owners including me! The first owner moved to the Isle of Man and it was exported there. On his return in 1994 it was imported back here and kept its original 1989 G plate year but with a new number.

That will be the original number and for some reason the seller isn't willing to release the new number. :o

My feelings on this is that he paid over the odds for it on a whim and now wants his money back. Good luck to him. I would make him a bid on it but it wouldn't be anywhere near what he wants for it. Would all depend on how much welding it needs to exactly where. I know when mine went for the mot where it failed on welding to the inner sills by the time the welder had knocked it all back to the good stuff there was half the floor to do as well.

Defo very early.. The sunroof gives it away the way its mounted and its unique edges used on early I and SI models..
