Hi Ray, do you have any pictures of the car? Also, how many pipes have actually burst? Have they burst over the rear sub-frame?
Ray.

Hi,
Trouble is I am in Manchester and the car is in Surrey .The garage (SGG,Dunsfold Park) said the fuel tank may have to be removed to replace a pipe. I searched all over and cannot find any photo's of the car but its very similar to the one at the top of the page ! Car also has towbar and electrics!
Magenta metallic VSX If you can recover it the actual job would be quite cheap and simple but I'm just too far away

They obviously arent sure then.. there are NO suspension pipes above the fuel tank.. they run down the passenger side and along the bottom of the tank and up over the subframe... fuel pipes above the tank are rubber and only metal again under the car...

They probbaly think it is easier to remove the fuel tank than the rear subframe.

I am not sure how much that would help access pipes along the rear subframe Will and dropping the chassis member to reach the pipes is not a big deal. On my rhd 24v I replaced all the rear pipework and that was without a pit or lift! Hopefully this car can be saved by someone. Regards, Matthew T.

The problem is the lower end of the tank filler pipe.
It prevents the subframe dropping much that side.
The passenger side can be lowered completely and full access obtained to the pipes and fittings on top the subframe.
Not too difficult a job to do as DIY on a drive with car rear on stands and a trolley jack supporting the loose passenger side of the subframe.
Much more difficult to do on a lift without dropping the full subframe.
