Was a bit of a surprise when I stumbled upon this earlier!

seller is in Bristol, very close to Newport in wales where there were certainly a couple of 24v PRV xm's, one of which had rear beam damage, i wonder...............
Strong money, maybe not worth 2.5k but if you can find another low miles engine you will be very lucky, top end 24v specific engine parts are now unobtainium so good engines are never going to sell for a couple of hundred quid.

Seller has been around for a long time.
Local Citroen Indy.
Also selling a recovered low mileage 2.5 engine.
These engines will have been recovered years ago and dry stored.
Clear out I suspect as no longer any customers willing to pay that much plus fitting costs.
Check his prices for the XM digital A/C panels.

That is certainly an interesting spot David and I thought initially the engine might be from Paul Smith's car, which was a late model and recently written off after damage in a garage forecourt. It may still be the same XM although Paul is in Lincolnshire I think. I cannot see anyone paying £2.5K for the lump however rare and the condition looks pretty rough despite the low miles! It's not the first time that this engine or the 2.5 have been listed up. Although I think the price has come down by around £100-200 since their first listings earlier this year.
I do think some people are real dreamers on their prices on some of these harder to get bits, as by the time they have reposted it a good few times and maybe sold they are not really much better off

The other thing is these engines are an easy fit to the Renault Alpines as that's where the original engine from our old one ended up. Those boys do seem to have very deep pockets so I wouldn't be surprised if one of them paid crazy coin.

They fit Renault 25s too .. which were also only ever subjected to the 12v with turbo on them..
