Wanted. Rubber seals for my S1 24V. I've had the rear spoiler resprayed, sent to bodyshop before my engine woes, so need fresh seals. Mine are all perished.Anyone got a good Pair? As the 24V it's the spoiler that stands on 2 pedestals. Thanks. I need something to take my mind off the possible destruction inside the engine. See my post in petrol engines......

I think you might find it a bit tough to get some good ones. Only Mk1 had them, so I think most would be perishing by now. You might be lucky however.

This is one of those parts that need a nifty solution for remanufactring. 3D printing in rubber would be very useful!

I agree this may be something I need to look into. Can 3D printing print in rubber? If so there is a place in Manchester that has a massive industrial 3D printer.

If a flat gasket/seal, is it possible to cut one from a sheet of something cushioning?

I doubt a 3D printer can print in rubber. Maybe a plastic printed version with two thin rubber gaskets might do it. A sort of sandwich.
Or have a plastic one printed and use it as a mould to make a rubber one possibly.

Do we have a photo or drawing of this item?

It is not quite a flat seal due to there being a slight upstand/rim around the edge, whose omission would be noticeable I think! Regards, Matthew T.

The original ones are more plasticy than rubber. I made two new ones from a sheet of rubber I had.

I may try cutting some temporary ones from a sheet of rubber and look into getting some proper ones made.
