Breaking - 2.0 Turbo Onyx

Evening Chaps,

I am breaking this 2.0 Turbo Onyx. It has done 130k. This car has been discussed before on the old forum. Unfortunately it is a non runner, it fails to produce a spark, even after replacing most of the ignition system. It is beyond economic repair, with crusty strut tops, and being sat in that hedge for approx 5 years, and in my yard for over a year. So it is better to put it to use to keep other XMs on the road, and to clear space in my yard. The car is in Northern Ireland, which may be problematic, as many of you won't be able to pop over to collect bits.

If you need anything, feel free to get in touch.

Robert

Sad to see another one go but this has played hard to get for sure. :(
Bet the starter motor has seen some action...

I need a 2.0i turbo engine Would it be a brave (or stupid?) man to contemplate
the engine as this is effectively what saw it scrapped or was it the dreaded electrics.

I can sit here and see all the bits needed by certain fellas on the forum!
I'm guessing too the offside rear door will find a new home on a certain Xm in Abergavenny!
No who wanted those wheel trims? Thwartedefforts?

Starter Motor works perfectly!

I suspect the engine itself will be fine, it is the surrounding electronics that are at fault.

If you do take the engine out Robert, I could do with the rubber block that the right hand engine mount sits on. Mine has broken in two, and Citroen want silly money for a new one :(

Thanks,

Paul

What year is the car Robert? '93 vintage I'm guessing if it's a TCT?

Is the nearside front wing in good shape? May be a bugger to courier mind!
Let alone the engine. Mind, Swansea Cork ferry is starting up again shortly... :!:

Hi Paul,

When I get it out, I'll take a photo for you of the mount. Hopefully it isn't damaged either.

Hi Andrew,

I am not 100% sure what year the car is. I suspect that it is a 1993 build car, although it was registered late in 1994/5 I think. I will get the RP number off it when I get home.

If you are thinking of coming over, you would be best getting the ferry to Rosslare/Dublin and driving up. My postcode is BT35 6QU.

I will check the wing out for you. I am not 100% sure if it is ok, various panels of the car have been resprayed in the past. As a guide for postage, I got a CX wing courriered over from England last month for £25, and it is more expensive to send stuff to Ireland rather than from Ireland.

Doesn't SamWise's Turbo D want a bonnet from lifting Laquer..

Im TRYING to get hold of Sam to see what state his car is in, but He's not logged in for some time now...

ANYONE got a number for him?? If I can get his car, I'd be interested in the bonnet...

Rgds

Hi Paul

Think I saw that Sam had a tow bar on ebay earlier this week.
Will see if I can find it again.
