THIS just 10hrs left to run on the auction, heater matrix is a simple enough job to do, looks like it could be a nice car.

Needs the clutch and flywheel changing as well, but overall looks in good order.

The 16v is a very good engine, 0-60 time of 10sec and 40mpg on a run, probably the easiest engine to work on and source parts for, low spec is appealing to many as its less complicated to maintain, you get into XM ownership for very little money and could end up with a nice solid usable car, and you could of had that bought and on the road for under £500! not many XM's you can say that about now.

I am sure the engine is good as you say Dean and there are not too many other XM out there to choose from at the present time! The advert does not state whether the car is manual or auto that could make a difference to interest levels. With regards, Matthew T.

It is a manual, hope it doesn't get scrapped. It is close enough to be tempting but not mobile enough, unfortunately.

Why does an xm flywheel need changing?? Unless the starter teeth are buggered arent they conventional solid iorn wheels??
Mathew the 2.0 16v is not that far behind the tct engine actually. Id like to sample one to be honest and heard good things about them... they are 140 bhp to start with.. so not that bad. Ive also heard like dean the mpg is pretty impressive for what they are. It was the second NEW engine introduced in S2 models... the first or other being the 2.5td engine.

In the advert is says the clutch and flywheel that are required, are with the car.
Possibly the car has been run with a slipping clutch, which could have overheated the flywheel.
The 2.0 - 16v engine is known so suffer from piston slap due to the very short skirts.
The problem with dead cars is that you are into £500 before it is with you, then you have to fix it...or pay to get it done.

This seller normally breaks his XM's if they do not sell.
He has regularly sold XM bits, think he may have supplied you a refurbished V6 hydraulic pump recently.
