Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Looks a good one, very low mileage ...an early S1 model and with the best engine - (simple 8v, no turbo) - its the obvious choice for 'winners'! I must admit i'm biased of course as I roll around in exactly the same type of car. I'd swop it though if someone had a nice manual diesel to offer me

That looks be a decent, early spec car. Someone has added the SE interior and some wobbly web wheels. The Prestige was a mish-mash of manual black leather seats and the rest in plain material.
Decently low mileage. MOT history is good.
That should sell well, early cars are preferable and thin on the ground now.

Wheels are original and standard fitment for Prestige models.
The 2.0i is a cracking good engine and i never had any complaints about mine, obviously, it's not fast but then the XM isn't a fast car, its a carrying speed car.
Hope it gets a good home.

It's a pretty early car, Rp 5128, production date 23 November 1990.
I didn't know they made Prestige models in 1990. Were wobbly webs available then?
Doesn't appear to have a red badge steering wheel either.

I think the Prestige / Premier were introduced in 90/91 and ran until the end of MK1 production in limited numbers.

Found my brochure.....
The Premier was supplied with-
manual transmission only
ABS
Alarm
wobbly web alloys
RCL
Electric tilt and slide sunroof
Electric, heated and tinted mirrors
Electric front and rear windows
6 speaker 75w stereo cassette with steering wheel remote
Metalic Paint with 5 colour choices, Mandarin red, cobalt blue, mercury grey, Triton, Quartz
The prestige came with all of the above plus the following
Auto transmission only
Leather upholstery
Air conditioning
Automatic climate control
There were no options for these models, you picked which one of the two you wanted and chose from one of the 5 metallic colours and that was it.
available from 1991 with a starting price of 22k
This car seems to be picking up the bids very quickly! mind you its the first decent one i have seen on ebay for a while.

The car appears to have sold for £1,570 after 35 bids and 14 bidders, which is quite good going for a mid spec 2.0i non-turbo! With regards, Matthew T.

I'm still not convinced engine has as much of a bearing on price as overall condition. Having said that the rust on this looks like it could be mildly substantial since the rust is coming through on a patch that has already been welded in, beggars cannot be choosers however, mk1 XM's are thin on the ground these days.

I hadn't seen that later picture. Definitely a bit of surgery required, there.
