Hi Miguel,

What exactly is wrong with the strut tops you have, rubber tearing, rubber delamination, steel corrosion?
What version of car do you have, Hydractive, or no hydractive?
Where are you?

You can get the rubber remade by https://elastomer.eu/index.php/en/citroen-strut-mounts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi Miguel. I know the feeling! I'm not one of the forum experts but if you go down to the self help files there is a really good link all about turret top issues and remedies. There are solutions.

Best of luck,

LG.

Thanks a lot for the help, i really don´t know exactly what is the problem, i changed the spheres in a Citroen Service and they told me that the best thing is to change also the struture that suport the spheres, they just gave me the drawing that i´ve posted in the forum.They said that the suspension support may brake... Is a non-hydrative XM Hatchback from 1990. I think the part number is, 5271 a3.

Hi Miguel,
If you have just changed the spheres and been advised to replace the strut tops it sounds like the rubbers have been torn through running flat. Unfortunately the non-hydractive strut tops will not be easily found and most likely sourced in France or Germany.
It would certainly be worth trying Frederick who advertises on Leboncoin and I shall endeavour to locate and post contact details.
I hope that you manage to find the parts you need and keep the car going!
With regards,
Matthew T.

It's pretty easy to make a reasonable assessment of strut tops.

For rubber tearing or delamitation, jack the car body up so the wheels hang. This will show any failure in the rubber.

For steel corrosion, cut away any bubbling upper rubber and inspect the top and bottom side of the steel for corrosion pitting.

I would think non-hydractive strut tops will be easier co come by than hydractive ones.
