I'm very sensitive to steering wheels Rob. I like 'em big and fat and chunky and the single spoke one on my XM is just about perfect; the only shame is it's not leather but you can't have everything.

S1 Xantia leather steering wheels are very good but strangely S2 leathers don't feel quite as chunky which is odd because taking a vernier caliper to them shows them to be identical in girth

How we ever coped with those horribly plastic skinny things of years gone by I just don't know. When I look at some classic cars these days my first thought is 'You expect me to steer it with that thing?'

Ka is still going..No rust either...My Sister has it now. Only 20,000 on the clock, although not for much longer. It's a 51 reg. Shows how much I drove it!
I'm fond of it, they drive like little go carts, but I much prefer driving bigger cars....and it is a Ford, not a Citroen.

The seats in my Pa's C5 has the tilt adjustment. It is great as you can get comfy easily. I know what you mean by the steering wheel Rob in the C5. Our ( I say ours) Leather one has sort of melted and gone all horrid and noticed the other day whilst driving it, the stitching is starting to come apart.
My leather XM one perfect. Xm seats...well you sink into them. So comfy.

She now has a cat and oxygen seneor :-D It was a bit of a task as the cat I had, originally from an Activa, turned out to be two inches too short... That was fixed by welding an extension onto it by taking a bit from the old de-cat pipe. I fired up the arc (stick) welder and did less than a half decent job due to lack of skill and practice but it's good enough. Well, it's not fallen apart (yet!)

There's still a bit of a blow somewhere in the exhaust but less than it was :) We've given up on trying as it's hellishly difficult to do lying under the car so when she goes in for MOT I'll ask them to do the necessary as part of the MOT.

We watched the oxygen sensor on both gas and petrol after clearing the permanent fault relating to the previously non-existent oxygen sensor and after a bit saw it nicely ranging from low to high on the ELIT :-D

An intermittent fault was also noted on the knock sensor but a wiggle of its plug seems to have cured that one.

A road test shows she runs lovely and an annoying stumble on gas when on the over-run or very light throttle has now gone and she's quieter :-D Excellent!

Now to get her booked in for MOT and final sorting of the exhaust leaks.

Huge thanks to Chris and Liam for all their hard work today :-D

Not after a KA leather seat. You don't make a indentation with them. XM in comparison you sink into. But I agree with the CX seats ...exceptional!...far softer than an XM seat.

Well done Jim. Hope she sails through the MOT. Best of luck.

Being broad of beam, I have found nothing to compare to an XM's seats for comfort. Including CXs. I remember my BX GTI being comfortable but the 1.4 I also owned and really liked wasn't as comfortable because the back rest was too thin.

Pleased to hear you are continuing to make progress on the XM Jim. I took my youngest back up to uni in Newcastle tonight in my XM just because I fancied having a ride out in it.

BX 16 valve seats are perhaps the most comfortable I've ever come across ( not literally! ), when we did the Citroen Classic Challenge back in May, we were spending 10 hours a day in the cars, without so much as a twinge.

I agree about the BX-Valver seats, they are very well shaped.

There's no competition to CX Seats. The Series 1 seats are by far superior to Series 2, and cloth superior to leather. The most comfortable CX Seats I can remember were some light blue cloth seats that had been fitted into a nail of a DTR Turbo Safari. Looked a heap but just kept going, and going, and going...

Series 1 CX Prestige or Pallas Leather seats are quite nice and comfortable though. Series 2 Prestige seats are lovely too, as are Series 1 GTi Turbo seats. In fact, they're all damn comfy!

DS seats are quite nice, but I prefer the CX seats... XM seats are noticeably less comfortable IMO...
