That's good. Have you mentioned it in the transmission section. Might be good to get some opinions. Robert M and Dean are good on Autos.

It will either be the idle speed is too low when cold or the torque converter lock up clutch is binding.

Hope it's the idle speed.....idle speed is OK normally or so I think since it never happened before. Happy to say it didn't happen today.
Any remedy Dieselman, rev the engine when engaging Drive or Reverse maybe..

What is it idling at when in park Jaap? I think it should be 800 rpm. Mine is too low. It gets worse when warmed up.

I would think around 800 or 850 when cold, Russ. Never caused any concern with me, I thought it was perfect.

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
It hasn't happened again thankfully.
This weekend I'll do another oil and filter change...so that's 1 minus point - too many oil and filter changes or do I drive too much:)
I've only used 15W40 as is mentioned in the manual, but could I use 10W40 as well in the turbo diesel? And the fuel filter, I don't know (haven't looked it up yet) what is recommended at which interval is the recommendation..questions questions just been too much on the couch today being not feeling great today.

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
Haynes says anything between 5W40 to 20W50.....which is probably Haynes speak for every car they cover!
I used total quartz 10W40. The filter was just a filter from GSF I think. Have you got a purflux canister type fitted?
Fuel filter every 18K...i expect others will suggest something different.
And yes, your driving too much!
Seek medical attention if your stingy eyes and coughing continues.
You don't know what was in that smoke.

Jaap, hope you're soon feeling good again..
I'd stick top 15W/40 personally. I use it in bulk in all mine - bought 20 litres at a time

Well, I've done the same again Jim, buying bulk 15W/40 and the strange stalling; never occurred again. Thankfully.
Dervy 's been going for thousands of miles once again, problem free. The only thing worth looking into, is the pre heating warning light that fails at times. She starts still great after guessing the length of time needed pre heating, but the light intermittently, doesn't. Don't know yet why.....some relay maybe, but which one....
