I have a 27mm (a Sykes-Pickavent) left over from BX days.
Will is right, you do need a proper injector socket, not a regular one.
Any good motor factor should have one. You might even find one on H*lf*rds.

Just been to Halfrauds and no go.

I have found a diesel injector socket on line. So might give it a go.
Shamefully yes, I have been trying 27mm impact sockets.

Chris, does yours have a slot/window in it, or does it look like a normal socket?

The slot window sockets are only required for the sensor injectors on 2.5TD's and 2.1 EPIC.
Even then a 27mm box spanner will be long enough for the electrical lead.
In my experience the slot sockets open out on difficult injectors so are a waste of money, particularly if none of your injectors require one.
For my 22mm 2.5 injectors I now use a box tube, matching socket for the other end and a 1 metre breaker bar.

My 22mm injector socket has a window in the side for the electrical lead, and is a stout item.
Agree - don't like the look of the slit type, or those with an incomplete bottom hex section - could open up under duress.
My 27mm injector socket is just spacious inside, no window or slit.

A decent ring spanner will fetch them out, but will be slower.

Another option would be to deliver it for skimming with the injectors in and have them remove them.

That had crossed my mind. Last resort I think.

It took two people, a draper injection socket, a breaker bar and some brut force, but half an hour later the little sods are out.
They were stubborn to say the least.

Next stage, get quotes for skimming and pressure testing. There seems to be two companies local to me that are worth investigating.
Another step forward.

It is unlikely to need pressure testing, any cracks are normally obvious.

Skimming is cheap.
